Hi, I’m Karen!
Since 2001, I’ve been helping amazingly strong people navigate their path to life-long happiness and wellness.
What does that mean exactly? Well, it’s different for each individual and the techniques I use to do this work are not a one-size-fits all solution. I’ll explain in a little bit. First, let’s talk about why I’m doing this and how I got here.
In 1987, when I was in my 20s, I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus shortly after overcoming years of anorexia and bulimia. This diagnosis carried a death sentence and my doctors told me I had 5 – 7 years to live.
They offered me various medications and physical therapy to ease my suffering. I refused. Instead, I worked on healing my own body to save my life.
Long before mainstream medicine announced the correlation between the health of the immune system and gut health, I looked for the connection between the two and painstakingly dedicated my life to discovering how to heal myself.
It didn’t go without pain and despair though. However, the more I learned about my body and how it works together with my mind and soul, the more everything made sense.
In the mid 90's, I had a checkup, and my Lupus was nowhere to be found. It was gone.
The nurses and doctors were amazed, and confused, because I had healed myself without meds or treatments.
With this understanding, dedication and hard work, I was able to heal my own body.
My relentless years of study were adjuncts to my healing journey, and in some cases, diversions. My pain, suffering, and despair drove my research and were my guides and teachers.
A miracle? No. I’m also not a cat with nine lives. I’m just like you.
And now, I’d like to share my practical knowledge to help heal you.
My Life Now
Fast forward 33 years. I’m still healthy, have a wonderful family and couldn’t be happier. I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing and absolutely adore my life.
In my free time, I love taking long walks along the Long Island Sound communing with nature, and inspiring others to get outdoors and connect with the beauty around them. Nature helps tremendously in the healing process.
One of my favorite pastimes is learning the health benefits of the plants I encounter on my hikes, and then create teas, salves, and tinctures with them.
I also love spending time with Pedra, my Blue Fronted Amazon parrot, as well as collaging, crocheting, knitting, gardening, cooking for my family, or watching my chickens.
But, I especially enjoy sitting in my apiary (and likens myself to a bee) enjoying the busyness of the bees as they go about making our world a sweeter place.
I see a world of self-reliance where everyone nurtures their body and soul with healing food, clean water, pure air, positive thoughts, compassion, simplicity, non-judgment, acceptance, and equality with kindness towards all sentient beings.
Where the medical paradigm supports and educates instead of placates and medicates.
Where SELF-confidence, love, and reliance are instilled and fear is eliminated.
Where together through our self-reliance, we restore Mother Earth and humanity so that all heal and flourish.
This is what I want for you. And for the world.
Since 2001, I've helped hundreds of women -- and men -- find and maintain happiness, health and wellness through various techniques and journeys together.
I didn’t choose to do this work though. It chose me. It’s my Soul work.
From a very young age, I knew that I was born to be a guide and teacher.
By following my Soul’s guidance, my life became clearer, less painful and easier. Those few times when I didn’t follow its guidance, my path was longer and challenges greater.
It sounds simple, but don’t be fooled. It’s work and sometimes, it’s hard.
And that’s when having a guide to help you on your healing journey is helpful.
When we work together, I get to the root issue as quickly as possible.
We may use biofeedback, assessments, coaching, nutrition, meditation, mindfulness exercises, journaling, sound healing, reiki, yoga, or creative exercises. I have several techniques we can use, but it depends on what you need.
Ultimately, our work together will guide and inspire you to unleash your healer within. I show you the path, set you up with the right tools and send you on your way.
